The Story
This gold pendant is inspired by the beauty within drops of water. The hammered geometric pattern comes from a drawing in my sketchbook of water drops on rocks by a waterfall, caught in the sun’s golden light. Great for long layering or double wrapping, this necklace adds a splash of gold to any outfit.
The Inspiration
After a long hike through the Wuyi Mountains, I came across a waterfall streaming out of the rock. I plunged under the fall’s icy stream to soothe my aching muscles. Afterwards I lay sunning on a rock taking in my surroundings. Tiny drops of water, like pure crystals, studded the stones around me, gleaming gold in the sunlight.
Forging Gold
The craftsman places the metal rod over the open flame and waits. The fire eagerly enwraps the metal, a torrent of yellow, gold, orange spikes. Soon the metal begins to glow from within, and he knows it is time. The mold is ready.
